That's a lot of hostility to load on a lovable little caliber Mat, I've run hundreds of rounds through my PS90 and think the only thing neater might be the same cartridge in a nicely made bolt gun.

It's easily in the K-hornet class and a LOT of shooters probably would like a rimless alternative to that little number.

Factory Thompson Center barrels would be a great start.

BTW Ogre, where are your favorites eh? Start posting or I'll subject you to REAL horror, strapped to a chair for a "My Pretty Pony" marathon, or perhaps the Smurfs.

You both FAIL.
You both neglected "THE THING". Either the original or the John Carpenter remake.

EPIC FAIL!
YOU FAIL AT HORROR!

God, and how COULD I?! It's one of my all time favorites! ARRRGH! Looks Like I'll have to find "Audition" too.

Time for the Halloween horror movie favorites

October 11, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

10: 28 days later British "Zombies"

9: Evil Dead Trap Japanese Argento-esque splatter

8: The original Nosferatu Silence and B&W to set a dark
mood

7: Carnival of Souls A good, classic, ghost story.

6: House of Wax The remake, less camp, more shriek

5: Cigarette Burns MOH Short on the VERY dark side of obsessive collecting

4: Shaun of the Dead To lighten the mood a bit

3: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Ditto

2: Suspiria Classic Argento

1: Evil Dead 2 Ash- the Timex hero vs Deadites

I feel remiss cause there's so much more to list but I wanted to keep it to ten, so things like Eko Eko Azarak (Misa the Dark Angel) Godzilla, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, Most of the Masters of Horror series, and collections such as the Dark Castle collection were left out.

Re: Cowboy Beebop live action movie.

October 11, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

I only fear what American directors will do to Battle Angel and Cowboy Bebop. They can't seem to help it, they want to send more messages than Western Union, and I fear the plot will suffer.

How could I have forgotten Gantz? Cryptic, hormonal and violent all at once!

Of course there are the guilty pleasures like "My my Mai!" and The "Tenchi Muyo!" series

and I nearly forgot the original "Vampire Princess Miyu" God I gotta get a replacement VLD player just to watch it now, along with "Bubblegum Crisis" and the 10 VLD set of "Urusei Yatsura" anyone got $500 to spare? Or wanna trade the DVDs for VLDs? (Har har, fat chance I know but as a bonus I might throw in Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers)

Ghost in the Shell, in all it's incarnations (bet you couldn't guess) for the layered and interlaced plot lines I haven't seen in almost ANY American sci fi. And OKay, the Major

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Wierd and cute and funny sci fi/high school drama.

Battle Angel Alita.

I loved Dominion Tank police and almost forgot about it. Thanks!

Inuyasha, or for that matter anything by Rumiko Takahashi.

I own and love Machine Girl and if we're wandering into live action I own the complete six DVD collection of "Lone Wolf and Cub" Which was cut and re-edited as "Shogun Assasin"

And what? No Doc Holiday Cosplay? Not gonna run around like a seven year old with a Hollywood budget? Look I got me a Howdy Doody hat and six guns!

Now I feel bad for picking on two of my favorite kinds of people, cosplayers and shooters, but they are two great tastes that DON'T taste great together.

I just traded my AO m1 carbine for a Taurus Thunderbolt, presuming I could fake it with a Remington 870 or my CZ Canvasback all I'd need is a decent 45 SAA to go with the Thunderbolt. Sounds like fun to me!

LOL. We have a Flaming Lips street, or is it avenue? in Oklahoma City. They're local heroes.

Re: Tricked out weapon

September 29, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

Yep, that's the one, you can go to the website

http://www.ultimak.com/

There are several varieties due to the wide variations in AK designs, be sure to get the right one.

Re: Tricked out weapon

September 29, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

I bought an ultimak for my romanian model AK and love it. With the Trijicon you can see the irons as well as the optic, the sights then appear to line up on the apex of the chevron. one shooter found this distracting.

I noticed the optic rail pointed to by g-man is a quick detach, so I wouldn't worry about seeing the irons as much as the loss of zero if I took the mount off.

Re: High speed vidoe of scope and barrel flexing

I also wonder if he should have been setting the target on top of the front post. I noted that the only hit was on the lower left of the target, maybe if he'd planted the post dead center of the target he'd have had 4 hits.

Re: .22cal at 600fps

September 20, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

Keep this up and you'll be getting yourself a FWB or Diana.

Re: two new Ak's grabbed up

September 20, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

Yeah, I'm with elbuscador. I've got an Ultimak on mine and think it's pretty sweet. It's held in place by two barrel bands and ain't going anywhere.

Re: Thinking about a new "tactical" rifle.

September 19, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

I'm assuming you mean "precision" tactical and not spray and pray tactical, in which case I wholeheartedly recommend Remington. I own a Light Tactical that makes me smile each time I pull the trigger. Ogre seems to be loving his new Remington too and I'd love to try one of the M24s in 300 mag or 338 Lapua. Remember that good ammo costs, this is why I don't own a big 50, the cost of feeding it 100 rounds of match grade ammo is equal to the cost of another gun. Get good steel rings and spend at least a couple hundred on the scope too.
Hope I helped.

Re: Bushnell Trophy 1x28 red/green dot, 4 reticle sight - ?

September 16, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

I generally like Bushnell just fine, it sounds like this particular model sucks. Maybe try a different Bushnell product?

Re: Top Fighting Rifles

September 15, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

I myself own and love the FN PS90, and I'd love to see a more general issue of the P90 among military and police. But now we've wandered into PDW land and away from the original battle rifle main topic.

Re: T-14, let me show you it

September 13, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

Interesting concept, I think I saw it posted once somewhere in here already. Only problem is 410 guage. poor performance at high cost.

Or maybe you got the avatar as a gag?

Re: Top Fighting Rifles

September 13, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

Raubritter, how can you be an anarchist and a communist? I've always thought them as being mutually exclusive. Commies being militant authoritarians and anarchists being you know, anarchic. or is it anarchaic?

Re: What happened to Metallica?

September 12, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

I figure heavy metal is a burnout ring. Sing about death and destruction long enough and one day you wake up an think, "Wow, should I lighten up or commit suicide?" I think they opted to lighten up. Not that I've heard the songs you're talking about. I'd already noticed on the last album or two that they weren't themselves anymore.

Re: New Scope for my "Tactical" rifle

September 11, 2008 by tom-the-impaler

I'm a fan of Bausch and Lomb's Elite series, Meopta, and Trijicon, optics. But As elbuscador says Leupold has a great rep and all kinds of serious competitors use them.

"As to the safety and problems with it, sounds to me like the same crap the F-16 had to deal with getting off the ground,"

Problem is, time has told. They've been working on this tilt rotor design for as long as I can remember. Nope, correction, longer by far than I've been alive.

I carry the Taurus 650, a hammerless 357 in the front pocket in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster.
