Re: What would Ogre do?

September 30, 2008 by omit

Oh there's nothing finer than to have someones dog sniff your crotch at Home Depot or any of the other establishments that allow idiots to bring their flea bag varmints in. Here is a bit of my beer induced verse on the subject.
I am the modern man
I don't stand my ground
as grandpa did
I don't speak my mind
I just fall in line
While my wife goes out
to earn the bread
I follow Fido around instead

Weapon light

August 24, 2008 by omit

Hey Ogre, I'm looking to put a light under my new Taurus OSS. I'm kinda intrigued with the press on the Insight XTI Procyon. Do you have any opinion on it. The 125 lumens and the Strobe feature sound nice, plus its not as expensive as a Surefire.

Taurus OSS

August 20, 2008 by omit

About a week ago I bought this Taurus Oss in 45 acp. Took it up in the high country today to shoot it and must say that I like it alot. I put 200 rounds of various 230 loads through her and only had one fail to feed with CCI aluminium cased 230 gr, fmj. I need to move the rear sight a tad to the right and all will be well. 485.00 before taxes.

Gerta is pure badass.Tell me more about that extention tube... where did you get it, how much was it, and how was it getting it to work?

Thats been about 4 years ago and the website " LONEWOLF" has since disappeared, but Choate Machine and Tool make a couple of extensions for the Nova and other shotguns, 45.00 dollars.

Zombie Slayer

August 19, 2008 by omit

Thought I'd post a pic of my self inflicted mod on my 26 inch Nova. The tube extension is from a Franchi. Gerta now holds 9 rounds of 2.75. Official Omit designation is Nova 12XTZSC, 12 gauge, extended tube, zombie slayer, camo.

Even though I am smitten with my new Garand in 308, and totally dig my copy of the Ogres shortened 336 in the scout configuration with red dot , my go to rifle is my old Mini 14. I have a choate pistol grip stock and red dot on it. If the food riots hit next week, it will be the first thing I grab.

Re: Death Race

August 10, 2008 by omit

Just saw a commercial for a new movie coming out.Death Race.I remember Death Race 2000, and it was epic stupid. This new version looks like the original after being recast and drinking too many Red Bulls. But I like the cast.

Yes it was stupid but we did get to see the bodacious Louisa Moritz

One of my sons is in a place called Al Kut Iraq, there is a Georgian contingent there and he says they are packing up to head home.

Re: Obama Upset About New Yorker Satire Cover But Its Pretty Accurate

July 15, 2008 by omit

Where is the muslim outrage about this? It seems they would be pissed that an American that claims to be christian , being portrayed in muslim garb, in a filthy western magazine , would send them into a frenzy. Hmmm, maybe they love the guy.

Hellboy II

July 14, 2008 by omit

Well it wasn't quite as good as the original ,but still very entertaining. Hellboy is a beer drinking average American man with some super hero qualities. And Lord knows I got to get me one of them revolvers he carries, makes my Redhawk look downright feminine.

Actually that looks at least as aerodynamic as many British designs.

I suggest stockpiling plenty of cheap booze. The bartering possibilities are staggering.

Re: Utah Gov would end 'out of state' CCW

July 8, 2008 by omit

My Governor is a bigger twit than yours. Two weeks ago at the meeting of western states governors, he called the earth a LIVING ENTITY that deserved respect. He probably prays to the earth every night before the Colorado State Troopers tuck him in under his Earth Godess silk sheet set. None of these people are fit to lead.

308 Garand

July 8, 2008 by omit

About 3 weeks ago I bought one of the new manufacture Garands from Springfield, at my local gun store. I've always wanted one since looking a pictures of my Dad carrying one in WWII. So I head to the hills today to see how she shoots. At 200 yards the front post is about as big as the target, but once I got her on paper, all my shots were within about 10 inchs of each other. That was sitting on an ammo box with the rifle laying over the back of a folding lawn chair. When I changed to standing unsupported my shots went to hell. Iwas hitting the box the target was taped to but rarely hit the target. I need a lot of practice , but the rifle is sweet, and that cling when the clip pops out is wonderful. Ammo was 147 gr. FMJ, surplus from Deutschland.

Challenger

July 7, 2008 by omit

Was driving back to Boulder, through Northglenn today and laid my eye's on a brand spanking new Dodge Challenger. This one was black and beeeautful. I had a 73 Ralleye 340 when I was in the Army, and have been lusting after a new ones since the big tease came out a few years back. Mopar lives!!!

Skar, you should consider resurecting Doc Savage, he has so much potential and few poeple today know anything about him.

Since we are talkin Space Babes now, may I defer to the lovely Lt. Gay Ellis, Moon Base Operator with a demure look but she was tough as nails. She gave NO quarter to those green skinned Earth invaders.

Thanks guys. I thought that would be right, but now I'm wondering if all these years I've been calling Supermans girlfriend Lois Lane and it may be Lwa Lane.

French Pronunciation

July 7, 2008 by omit

So I'm sitting here on a hot Colorado afternoon trying out a new ,very tasty beer. It's " Stella Artois " Could one of you more refined members give me a phonetic on the correct way to pronounce this? And while you are at it fill me in on the correct pronunciation of Du Toit. Thanks in advance

Quite appropriate with the recent Supreme Court decision. Louis L'Amours' Heller With a Gun.

Well that didn't work. How about this?

Re: Guns of the Horde

This is my 4 inch 44 Redhawk. It came with Houge grips which I swapped out for rosewood. I also took a file to it and shortened the overly long taper in front of the ejector housing. I also did some rounding at the muzzle.

Reloading 7.62x51

June 26, 2008 by omit

Two weeks ago I bought a Garand in 308 from the only gun shop left in town, today UPS delivered some 147 FMJ and some CCI# 34 primers. Do any of you reload for 308 in a semi auto, if so what is your recipe? I'm leaning towards 45 grains of Varget.

Re: CCW & What to pack

June 25, 2008 by omit

I'm taking a class this weekend to satisfy my county requirement to apply for a CCW permit. Totally bogus of course, 110.00 for the course, 150.00 to Boulder County, and 52.50 to the CBI for background check. I'm 50 years old, been hunting and shooting all my life, and am an ex Army M.P. If I had gotten out of the service in the last two years then I could skip the class. Stupid rules. Oh well, when I do carry I plan on my Sp 101 or 4 inch Gp 100. I'd love to carry my Redhawk in 45 colt , but I'd have to buy one of those man purses, but they don't sell those here, I'd have to mail order one from Utah or some such place. Just kidding.

Re: Jericho (the tv show)

June 25, 2008 by omit

I watched it with gusto. I think a lot of guys secretly hope for a quasi apocolyptic event to stir things up. I'm 50 now and if it's going to happen ,I hope it's soon before I'm too old to enjoy it.

Re: .30-30 or 7.62x39?

June 24, 2008 by omit

Hey I dig that Combat Cowboy Gun you got there... the light is something I might have to do.

Thanks, that is purely Home Depot on the Flashlight mount. That same tubing fits nicely on my Marlins in everything from 357 to 444. Of course this would have never entered my mind had not I seen the evolution of your Marlin 30-30 project.

I gave up my Dish Network 2 years ago, and Sci-Fi Channel is one of the few things I miss. This past fall I did order the complete U.F.O. series on DVD. It was bar none the sexiest sci-fi series ever. Just Google Lt. Gay Ellis if you don't believe me.
