At home dad. My avatar is taken from the Omaha Westroads Mall Code of Conduct (HT to Joe's Crabby Shack!). Item 14 prohibits guns, knives, yada yada. THAT was SO effective!
No posts received thumbs up, next time you see a good one, give some respect and thumb it up.

Anyone know about Colorado CCW requirements? I am talking with my Nebraska Legislator's Office about reciprocity with other states. All help appreciated.
Penn makes a line of spinning reels that would fit your American made requirement.
Chicks with guns? Hows about Cows with Guns?

Cooper's Commentaries are a MUST READ. Google it. They're online at Fr. Frogs, among other places..... Nebraskafirepower has a link.....
Good friend of mine is on an eradication team for local law enforcement. Says the problem is huge & there is absolutely no way to control it all. Got to shoot two illegals though.
....Careful he don't end up like Compion and Ramos........

"Move On is not new... it's just Pravda with better punctuation."
Good Stuff, there.
I admire Rush's intelligence, but I despise his arrogance..... while he is often right on most issues, his smugness is difficult to listen to.
I really enjoy Neal Boortz, though I do not always agree with him.
While I LOVE the idea of the 10mm round and the energy involved...... all my handloading experiences and misadventures have proven to me that TANSTAAFL. The extra energy comes at a cost- more recoil, shorter case life, battering of gun frame....... what will the 10mm do that the .45 ACP will not do in a pinch? And you'll never be using a pistol for serious work in any other siuation than "in a pinch": "If you knew you would be needing a gun, bring a rifle, and all your friends with rifles...."
The 10mm is an answer in search of a question, no?
The .22 conversion kit will not teach recoil mangement. It would be fine for aquiring sight picture, etc, but you can do that dry firing..... which you should do DAILY (cause it's FREE!).
I think so.... It is Certainly easier to Carry (and keep concealed) than my 5".
.... not a grat gun for bowling pin, at least with 115gr RN.....
"how prepared would we be to take on Russia?" All logistical and man-power considerations aside, standing up to "The Rus (TM)" with anything they'll even care about is not in any way shape or form Politically Viable....
Now, I KNOW the Ogre Nation has no problem fighting the commies, here and now, there and then, when ever. But the high muckety mucks that make the calls understand that 50+% of the American people can't stomach this current regional police action, let alone a broad, conventional war with a large, oil rich country, when we can't afford gas, are living on borrowed $$$ (held by the Chicoms, no less!) and IT IS AN ELECTION YEAR. Look for "The Rus" to do whatever they want, and the West to do no more than wring its hands...... we are going to leave our Georgian Allies hangin' as high as we did our Iraqi Marsh Arab Allies in 1991. Shame on us, U.S. ....
.... I'm thinkin' there are Hillbillies that have forgotten more about how to survive than most of us will ever know.......
The 8 pointed star.... symbol of Chaos? At least when Chaos screws up, it is notin a big way.............
I carry my EMP condition 1, daily. The Bianchi holster it rides in won't let the safety slip to "off". This was not the case with the cheap suede holster I carried my .45 clone in.... It came off several times.... so,I carried it in condition 3, and racked on the draw. ,(awaits flame attacks).
I have a Daly.... a couple of Wilson magazines and a feed ramp polish, and it works just fine. 400 bucks OTD, 40 bucks for magazines, 30 bucks to the gunsmith..... just to heavy for summer Carry.
One thought, if cost is a big factor: it won't take long to spend 700 bucks on ammo at today's (retail) prices IF YOU PRACTICE REGULARLY, which you should do, if you plan on Carrying. At 15 bucks a box, 2 boxes a month, in a little over 2 years, there's your 700 bucks.
Steps to Take To mitigate ammo cost:
1)choose a common caliber- .38 spec, 9mm, .45 ACP, and avoid odd ones- .32 H&R Mag, .357 Sig, .45 GAP....
2)learn to handload, and choose a gun/cartridge platform that is easy to load for- .38 or .357 revolver, or a .45 ACP 1911, and avoid those that have "issues" with handloads - high pressure catridges like .40 S&W, guns that have funky octagonal rifling like Glocks .....
3) Buy PRACTICE ammo (or components, if you choose to "roll yer own") in bulk,
Of the guns mentioned above, I would recommend the SP101 in .357 Mag for a first carry gun- Inexpensive (NOT Cheap!),Tough, small, with power to spare (with premium Personal Defense Loads) and you can reload your own .38 Specials to practice with. You will have a couple hundred bucks left over to pay for such things as a Good Concealed Carry Class, a GOOD belt and Holster, a nifty handloading set-up, or a couple years worth of WIN White Box....
My first pistol was a 5" steel framed 1911a1 Clone. It only took me one hot summer to decide that it was just to heavy (particularly so when loaded, with a spare mag) and big to Carry in light summer clothes.
