Re: New Scope for my "Tactical" rifle

September 21, 2008 by deathrider1579

Hey guys, thanks for the input, I haven't had a chance to make a decision yet cause I had to bugger out of SETX for that little thunderstorm with a name, you know, Ike.

I got to koon finger some Leupold and Nikon scopes this weekend not much optical difference my untrained eye could detect. If anything the Nikon was better, clearer etc. but I did like the Reticule in the Leupold was defiantly superior.

I wish I could lay hands on the Vortex and compare it side by side.

Whatever I'm putting this decision till I'm back in my house.

Later on.

New Scope for my "Tactical" rifle

September 7, 2008 by deathrider1579

Some time ago I picked up a Savage 10FP LE in .308, the guy I got it from had attached a Simmons 3-9x50 to it.
Not shooting it much I didn't really care but now I've started trying to make myself into a bit better of a shot and I have noticed that it doesn't really hold its zero that well... rather it doesn't hold its zero at all.

I'm looking for a better scope. I really don't have limitless funds so I'm trying to keep the cost down below $500 but I would like something that would let me put shots on target out to about 600 yards (I'm not confident enough to try that yet but I want to work out to it).

I have heard Ogre talk about Vortex scopes and I found one at Sportsmans guide for $400 : http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=451741

dunno really anything about Vortex scopes... ?

What do yall think?

Thanks,

Could it be a lizard of some sort?
Guess that doesn't explain the fur...

Any word on the wet pack results? Inquiring minds want to know!
I like the Golden Tiger better personally, it seems to be some what more consistent, at least out of a sks @50yds.
