High speed vidoe of scope and barrel flexing

This video shows us something that happens in every scoped rifle.
While this gun is a .50 and the torsion is somewhat exaggerated, this happens in all rifles.
If it didn't happen, the rifles would break.
Unfortunately this shortens the lifespan of optics. Some scopes seem to last forever, and well build scopes can seem to. But all scopes will eventually fail. At LRI, we had 4 scope failures, and each one was a well built scope.
You can see why solid mounts are also important, and why a lot of guys prefer one piece mounts as it helps add rigidity to the weapon. If they scope was mounted incorrectly, you could expect the scope to last a very short amount of time. Look at all the kenetic energy going through the action and into the scope while not as much energy is going into Mac's shoulder. Just because a gun doesn't feel like it's kicking hard, doesn't mean it isn't kicking something.

That is just sick.

You should see what an AK-47 does. Compared to this one, the AK is a pole dancer. That AI is remarkably rigid for a semi-auto.
Remember the HK PSG-1, for 10 grand? A Semi-Auto sniper is hard to do. Not because you are fighting the flexation, but tuning it and making the flex consistent. That's the hard thing.
You know the Marine's SR-25 sniper rifles? They are shooting 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 100 yards. Not the magic missile launcher some pouges think they are... and the .Mil is paying over 8 grand for those SR rifles.

That is crazy! When I get a good rifle setup, I am going to try and get the best setup I can. That really shows how important it is to not cut corners.

I wonder if he set his sights for 200m?

Here is the AK Video

1.5 to 2"? Hmm. All our M110s shoot sub MOA. Guess we're pogues too.

That video certainly shows some AR-15 bias. A better test would have showed the same shooter firing both rifles, or have the rifles machine-rested. Look at the end of the video when the AK Guy fires at the wood blocks. Look how he slaps the trigger! No wonder the AK never hit at 200!
I call Douchebaggery!

I also wonder if he should have been setting the target on top of the front post. I noted that the only hit was on the lower left of the target, maybe if he'd planted the post dead center of the target he'd have had 4 hits.

The only thing that video "proved" with any degree of believability was that the AK hits much harder. I did noticed that jack ass slapping the trigger of the AK. Has he never taken a basic marksmanship course? And the video also had my favorite propaganda machine, the fat bald guy from the Army ordinance museum. He's on all those shows and once said "I see nothing in the perceivable future that can out do an M-16." Really? Nothing? So the M-16 is the absolute best? That's hard to swallow.

If the midwest is the liver, NY, DC, and LA are out of control tumors.

Actually, they would be better described as oozing puss filled genital warts infecting anything they come in contact with.
