I've been thinking about buying a bow recently, as in Left Angeles there aren't a lot of rifle ranges that don't involve an hour's drive one way. When I was a youth in the Boy Scouts I did a lot of archery (and a little riflery, as that cost money).

It should be recurve, I just don't want the hassle of all those pulleys. It should be left handed, because I am, and it would be best if it were takedown, so it can fit into something that doesn't look quite so weapon-like. If I can avoid being a segment on the evening news, I will. It's been a good policy so far.

This PSE Impala takedown seems to be about the only entry level left hand take down recurve out there, so I thought I'd ask what I could expect with one, and find out what I give up by not paying more.

It's pretty decent for the money. A real Bang for the Buck bow.
If you want a step up, look really hard at the traditional bows from Fred Bear.

The Elite series is awesome without getting silly expensive.

Don't overlook Martin's traditional bows. Many trad bows can be found here. I love dealing with these people.

I've had a Martin Hunter recurve for 15 years or so. It's quiet, stable and pretty fast, for a recurve. I love it.

All right habs! Three Rivers is a great outfit. I shoot a 65# Bear Kodiak Magnum and a 90# Martin Longbow and get most of my accesories from Three Rivers.
Was gonna say something about compounds being for pussies, but changed my mind.
Compounds have their place, they're just not bows.
